For two months Edgar nurese Catherine , though she improves somewhat , she never fully recovers. During that time Catherine does learn she is pregnant. Edgar hopes the child is male so that the baby rather than Isabella and Heathcliff will inherit Thrushcross Grange. Six weeks after she ran away with and married Heathcliff, Isabella writes to Edgar begging for forgivness , Edgar doesnt answer her letter.Isabella nex writes to Nelly she says taht she is living at Wuthering Heights and that her expirence has been awful. Heathcliff has told her since he can get to Edgar to punish him for Catherine's ilness , he will take it out on Isabella instead. She is treaded badley by Hindley , Hareton and Joseph.

Isabella whos is the most feminine woman in the book is wors treated.By doing this and using a character such as Isabella Bronte was trying to demonstrate the importance of gender within that time period and that the more femine the more likley to be degeraded and treated unfarily.
